my partner and i have a legal problem.

4 months ago we spoke to a guy on ebay regarding the purchase of 2 cars. the transaction wsa going to be conducted out side of ebay. the total of the two cars was $6000, in which $1880 was given to him, $400 & $480 we’re transfered into his bank account (which we have the details for still) and the other $1000 was given to his nephew in CASH, and a contract was signed that the cars would be delivered the next day by his uncle, and that we would pay off the existing amount owing.

Now, the next day, no car arrived, 3 days later the same thing. when we FINALLY got in contact with him, his ‘wife’ had passed away and he had lost his new born child. now we googled his email address, and sure enough his name came up on bebo, but it wasnt the same age as he had told us. he had told us he was 36, yet the age on the website was 17/18.

so we finally got in contact with him after many, many emails. he claimed that the money has been transfered over to us a long time ago. after many arguments and he apparently spoke with his ‘finance superviser’ or whatever they are called, he told us he would transfer the money over. a month later there was still no money and he told us that the bank was ‘looking for where the money was transfered last time’. so now we are looking to have him charged and get our money back, but the police say we have to go through legal aid and legal aid say we need to go to the police.

so what should we do, as we are seriously confused
Well he was selling car parts on ebay, and we began to talk about the supposed ‘Driftworks’ cars he had (which for people who don’t know are Drift cars. a R31 & R32 Skyline) and i generally thought he would be genuine because he was selling parts on ebay. We have a record of every email sent, every bank account, phone number, a written contract, everything. and the $1000 was given in CASH! to his ‘nephew’. so we have at least one face that can be recognised. Also, my partner went onto MSN yesterday, and he was online, so my partner said to him ‘where is the money you owe me mate, i think i’ve been more then fair with the time its taken, and i’m sick of being screwed around by you.’ and he just went offline.

we’re still really stumped on what to do. should we print out all the emails and get all the paperwork together to take to the police???? or what. as i’ve never had to deal with something like this….

If i’m a landlord that found out that the apartment I’m renting is an illegal cellar apartment, can I put that tenant out ? It so happens that this tenant is refusing to pay me rent. What will happen if I put his property out of the apartment (neatly) and leave it secured in a closet for him, and change the locks ?

Hi,
i am just curious, i saw a couple of ridiculous advice from people claiming to be vets. Does anyone know if legal action can be pursued against those users if someone takes their advice seriously and it causes a heath problem. For example one “vet” recommended to cook bones before giving it to a dog (which is totally dangerous)
Just curious. There has got to be some way to deal with these people
i am with you Lucy, it just scares me that some poor soul will take their advice since they might consider these people more credible because they claim to be vets!! how horrible!

HI everybody, after 5 months of being a Stay at home mom, I decided to get a job in a daycare so I could bring my daughter with me. I’ve been working for 4 days now, and is been horrible, my daughter cries all the time, she is not with me in the same room, but she is right next to me in the other infant room. I feel that she is not been taking good care of, the lady that is like 60 years old just don’t put to much attention to the babies. Today when I got my daughter to go home she had the same diaper I sent her with. I just cried and cried of seen how she is suffering.
I just want to quit, but I know I signed something that says that I promise to be there for a year. Can anybody tell me if I can quit without having any legal trouble? Or how manage this problem?

OK, I had posted a question yesterday about finding a federal attorney. My question now is we filed an appeal on our child custody case with the apellate court in Indiana which we got the disturbing news on yesterday that they did not overturn the order from the local court. Can we now appeal to the State Supreme Court?? A child advocacy group has been telling us about filing a tort claim? Also filing a federal claim? Can we appeal to the State Supreme Court in Indiana? How do we go about this?
We have had an attorney. We submitted our brief to the appeals court, then they did. We had the opportunity to submit a reply brief. We tried contacting our lawyer over and over again, with no luck. I even wrote down everything that I wanted to include in a reply brief and got it to him. He never submitted a reply brief at all.

My brother and girlfriend have 3 kids together. He has previous legal problems with violence and now a problem with a suspended lincense. She is not inocent at all but no police record of it. She is the kind of person that will take the kids and not let any one see them. Since they are not married, how will the joint custody work? What are the chances he can get it?

have a little or no income. for the worst has been served with a week eviction notice. how can someone overcome an eviction thru the legal system?
